Advances in computer aided design have allowed space frames to evolve from simple flat geometric applications to the complex vertical and horizontal geometric applications that are now commonplace. Once we have decided that a space frame structure is a viable option for your project, we will collect more detailed information from you: architectural drawings, floor plans, building specs. We take that raw data and grid out an initial space frame design. We also coordinate with other trades to understand how the space frame will adhere to or support other structures such as the foundation or adjacent building.
Based on feedback from the trades, we revise our initial design and are ready to figure out the general cost of fabricating and installing your space frame structure. The revised plans are then resubmitted for your approval and sent to the contractors to bid on their portions of the project. Once approval is received at this stage, we can assign responsibilities. Contractors will submit drawings to subcontractors and more revisions may occur. For example, we may be asked to add lighting to the space frame structure. Once all revisions have been made, our plans receive a final stamp of approval and fabrication can begin.
