Rising 23 stories above the downtown Las Vegas arts district, Newport Lofts is a sophisticated, high-end urban high rise. The crown of the building is its signature amenities level defined by an open web, tubular space frame. The unprecedented amenity deck boasts a spa, movie room and gym along with an outdoor swimming pool and running track/promenade. Installed by DSI Spaceframes, the steel space frame creates an architecturally distinctive roofline while providing shade for the track without compromising the 360-degree views of the Vegas skyline. The rooftop space frame is one of many passive solar design techniques used to mitigate heat from the harsh desert sun. In addition to its contemporary style, the space frame serves another useful function—it houses lighting to dramatically illuminate the popular amenity deck in the evening.
